Elizabeth's Journey to Pemberley
When I discovered that Elizabeth wold be coming to my home, I was shocked and a little bit angry. After awhile though, I felt better, and I thought to myself that it would work out for the best. I was hoping that my letter would change her feelings about me, and if it did what I had hoped, she would be feeling terrible about declining my offer. She would have to deal with the shame of using such harsh words with me, and she will have no hope for renewed sentiments. I will stay out of her way, but I hope she will begin to feel guilt for her awful treatments of me and my pride.

Me, feel guilt for MY pride? I am fully convinced that you are, without a doubt, the most arrogant man to ever walk on this planet. Concerning your pride, you should thank me for breaking it down, for your pride is responsible for the harsh words said. And is this some kind of lure of me coming to see Pemberley, for you expressed you would not be there and unless I am mistaken, which I certainly am not, you very well showed up.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Bennet! You have absolutely no right to call my nephew arrogant. You are nothing but a yuppie with no pedigree or fortune. I feel that you should just go home and stop trying to see him all that time. Good day!
ReplyDeleteMr Darcy- please enjoy my daughter's presence. She is quite nervous about going there, and I am sure she is nervous of seeing you. I hope that you two are able to connect once again without anything being two awkward. And please, Lady Catherine, quit chastising my daughters for absolutely no reason
ReplyDeleteDarcy,
ReplyDeleteYou are a good friend. If you love Miss Bennet, you should show her. While she is at your house, try to be humble about it. She didn't like you at first because you were too proud. If you show her your beautiful house, but do not brag about it, she will see you are changed. It also can't hurt that your housekeeper is putting in a great word. Do not be discouraged because she declined you, keep trying and she might change her mind.
Your friend,
Charles
